Improving TCO

• Assign the Fast I/O logic option to output pins (MAX 9000)

  • This will allow registers to be implemented in the I/O Cells adjacent to the output pins instead of in the macrocells

• Reduce amount of logic between the register and the output pin (or pipeline)

• Place the register and the output pin as close as possible together

• Use the Global Clock
