This option controls the degree to which the fitter flattens a design netlist. A logic gate can collapse forward into a subsequent gate only if the number of product terms in the resulting logic function does not exceed the p-term limit. If the path delay of a logic function is not acceptable, increase the p-term limit to allow the larger functions to be further flattened. Choose a number from 2 to 90. The default p-term limit is 25 for the Balanced and User-customized templates, and 50 for the Speed template. The default p-term limit is 90 for the Density template (where Timing Optimization is disabled) because collapsing only occurs when there is a net reduction in p-terms.
