Use Timing Optimization

Select this option to perform timing optimization. Timing Optimization shortens the critical paths and allocates the fastest resources for a design, assuming that all paths are equally critical unless covered by a timing specification. In some cases, timing optimization trades density for speed.

Disable this option to optimize for density. When Timing Optimization is disabled, logic functions are collapsed only when it results in a net reduction in p-terms, or when required to reduce the number of macrocells to fit the target device.

By default, this option is on in the Balanced and Speed templates, and off in the Density template.
