WebPACK Programmer Release Notes
Version 2.1WP2.1
The following issues are known at the time of release:
-
When using Test Vectors with a 9500/XL/XV CS48 or BG352 package, JTAG Programmer
functional test may give erroneous results. The JEDEC file will program
the design correctly, the problem is strictly with the test vectors.
-
The JTAG Programmer supports both LPT1 and LPT2 parallel ports. When connecting
to the LPT2, however, the label states connection was established for LPT1.
This is an error in the labeling only.
-
If you install WebPACK on the same PC as Xilinx Foundation software, the
following conditions indicate that your system environment variables are
not properly set when you try to run Foundation software. Refer to the
Programmer ReadMe file for instructions on how to switch your environment
back to Foundation. If the problem persists, you may need to re-install
your Foundation software.
-
an invalid part error saying that the selected part name is invalid or
not supported
-
the error message "PCM:Automation caused an exception"
-
the error message "PCM:Cannot find abl2edif.exe"
-
the error message "PCM:Cannot load Xilinx license dll"
FPGA-specific Known Issues
-
The Verify option in the JTAG Programmer for the FPGA devices is not functional.
It gives warnings that there were too many mismatches when the device has
been programmed correctly.
-
When targeting a 4005XL-TQ144 the JTAG Programmer comes up with an error
that it could not find the bsdl file. A modification to the bsdl file is
required that is described in the reference.
-
FPGA Chain initialization for those devices with an IDCODE comes up with
an incorrect description in the JTAG Programmer.
You can find additional technical issues that have been reported on the
JTAG Programmer in the JTAG
Programmer Answers Listing section of the Xilinx
Technical Support web page. Some of the issues listed there may not
apply to the JTAG Programmer used in WebPACK.
