Fast Function Generators

• Each function generator emulates 2 to 3 levels of logic

  • a 10-level logic path typically requires 3 to 5 Function Generators in series
  • at 100 MHz, they must be less than 2 ns each including the routing

• Virtex has 0.6-ns function generators

  • leaves 1.4 ns for each route
